December 1st, 2012GGK visited Remand Home (Juvenille Correction Center), Saidabad, HYD

The goal was to make children feel happy, develop awareness about the community, realize their inherent talent and motivate them to become better citizens. This was accomplished by working and interacting with children known for anti-social behaviors to increase their knowledge about social life. We discovered that there were two groups of children in the home: the first group was comprised of children known for anti-social behavior, and the second group was comprised of children who seemed to be victims of unfortunate circumstances and had been abandoned for a long time in the home.

60 GGK Employees had spent a day with children at Juvenille Correction Center. We decorated their class rooms and conducted drawing competition where children brought out all their thoughts & dreams on the papers. Children had showcased their talent through singing, dancing and by playing skits. GGK employees participated in singing and dancing along with the children followed by group lunch. Post lunch GGK employees and children planted trees and played outdoor games. Prizes were given to the winners of sports competition and all children were served with goodies as an encouragement.

These children are in great need of love and affection as they are away from their family for a long time. They have latent and dormant talents within them which can be awakened by support and regular interaction of individuals and corporate like us.

We thank Youth For Seva (YFS) for coordinating the event and giving us an opportunity to bring back lost innocence.
