The Business Challenge

To provide orthopedic product information and services to Orthopedic Surgeons in a simple organized manner and provide a unique avenue for orthopedic product manufactures to showcase their products to their most important clients – Surgeons. All the content of the site had to be fully dynamic so as to allow the orthopodz admins to easily change the data.

The Solution

Orthopodz.com helps surgeons find orthopedic products that are related to their needs. The site helps surgeons understand new methods of surgery and give them a choice of products from many manufacturers that can be used. The site also caters to orthopedic companies trying to get their products in front of qualified Orthopedic Surgeons. GGK built a three tier solution which consists of the following parts.

  • Website portal: Dynamic site where all the data in the page comes from the Database
  • Database: Information about the menu, companies, products, related procedures etc are stored and sprocs which get and set the data for all these items
  • Web service: Get and set the data from InfoPath form
  • InfoPath form: Used to streamline data entry and reduced employee time spent entering and validating data

The Results

  • Easy to use and manage site using InfoPath form – rich text can also be entered using regular Office behavior.
  • Improved productivity for Surgeons. They can view all the manufacturers' products available for a given surgery in one single easy-to-use web page without having to visit all the websites. This has cut down the time spent by Surgeon significantly in researching all the products available.
